Portal is a temporary file-sharing service. We built it to be simple and private. Here is what that means for your data.
What we collect
Portal is designed to collect as little information as possible. When you create a portal we store a cookie to prove you are its owner so you can delete it. We do not ask for your name email address or any personal information.
Files
Files you upload are stored in temporary cloud storage and are automatically deleted after 24 hours. We cannot access the content of your files. File metadata (name size type) is stored alongside your portal to display on the download page.
Cookies
We set a single cookie to identify you as the owner of a portal you created. This cookie contains no personal information and is used only so you can manage your portals. No tracking analytics or third-party cookies are used.
Links
Portal links are generated using random words and are not guessable. Anyone with the link can download the file. Do not share portal links publicly if you want the file to remain private.
Third parties
We use Cloudflare R2 for file storage and Resend for email delivery if you choose to share via email. Each service receives only the information necessary to perform its function. We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Deletion
Files are automatically deleted after 24 hours. You can also manually delete your portal at any time which immediately removes the file from storage. Once deleted files cannot be recovered.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below. Continued use of Portal after changes means you accept the updated policy.
